The AGM is open to all and is a fantastic opportunity for members to learn what their society has been up to for the last 12 months.

This year, members will be reviewing the year, of which highlights include annual events such as the Children’s Countryside Day, Sheep Dog Trial, cricket match, the introduction of a flock competition and, of course, the Glendale Show.

Additionally, the AGM provides a platform for members to hear about plans for the next 12 months, and some of the opportunities which the Society is keen to seize.

Secretary Rachael Tait said: “The society’s AGM is also an excellent opportunity to find out more about the work of the GAS and members, friends, stewards and volunteers are all welcome to attend the evening.

“Membership of the society is really good value, considering the benefits – which include events and free entry to the annual show.”

The society, one of the smallest but most progressive of its kind in the UK, has around 300 members.
