Construction of a new £1.8million development of affordable homes is getting under way in Embleton.

The latest development is being constructed under Northumberland County Council’s affordable homes programme and will be managed by Homes for Northumberland, the council’s arms-length housing management company.

Contracting firm Surgo director Jeff Alexander, pictured above with Lee Grange (left), from Homes for Northumberland, and Neil Turner (centre), of the county council, said: “I am delighted to announce start on-site and our involvement in this much-needed, affordable housing development.

Our experience of this sector is extensive and we look forward to supporting Northumberland County Council in its endeavours to meet the housing requirements of local communities across the county.”
