ADVERTISING: A missed opportunity

I was taking my bin out for collection, late as usual, but just in time to see the bin lorry pull up outside

I was greeted by a larger than life image on the side of the wagon, which was of the Northumberland County Council Labour leader Grant Davey, telling us how much the comrades had spent on refurbishing council houses – probably enough to do up around 30 properties, I’m guessing.

Would it not be more sensible to sell the space on the side of the lorry to a local business to encourage job creation and raise funds to refurbish more affordable properties for local families than to promote the Labour Party using publicly-owned property?

Gosh, I wonder if there’s an election this May?
