Pupils at Seahouses Primary School headed out of the classroom to be put through their paces by the fitness pros at Northern Bootcamp.
As part of the outdoor curriculum, PE has been given an exciting shake-up. The children now have an interactive playground as well as a new large climbing frame to keep fit, build up body strength and improve balance.
During their time at the boot camp, the children fully embraced the challenges and demands of a range of assault courses, scavenger hunts and nutritional coaching.
It was the perfect opportunity to inspire young people to try new things, work together and increase their fitness, away from gaming, screens and electricals.
Year 3 pupil Jayden Zhu said: “I didn’t think I would be able to climb over huge barrels or carry the heavy planks, but when we all worked together we really could do it. I loved it and want to go again.”
Year 5 student Sadie Macfarlane said: “We always say at school that we should aspire to be the best that we can be and I think boot camp is all part of that. I want to be as fit and healthy as I can be so I can live a long, happy life.”
