PUPILS at a Rothbury school raised more than £1,000 for a national children’s charity.
Students at Dr Thomlinson Middle School took part in a mental arithmetic quiz in aid of the NSPCC.
The children were sponsored on how many questions they got correct and managed to raise a total of £1,025.80 for the charity.
A spokeswoman for the school said: “We are a small rural school and we were absolutely delighted that the children managed to raise £1,025.80.
“The children were very proud of their achievement and presented Lisa Jones from the NSPCC with the cheque during morning assembly on January 17.”
