NFU Mutual is celebrating an increase in staff numbers at its Alnwick office with a meet-and-greet day.
The event is being held at the office on Bondgate Without on Thursday, May 9, from 3pm to 7pm to give people the chance to meet the team over a cup of tea and cake.
Among them will be recently-appointed agents Jane Potts and Miriam McGregor.
They both have a wealth of farming knowledge and expertise, having built their careers on rural foundations.
Before joining NFU Mutual, Jane worked in the corporate banking sector dealing with farming and commercial customers.
She also worked for two local agricultural machinery dealerships.
She spent her formative years on farms and estates in the Scottish borders, but has lived and worked in Northumberland for the last nine years.
She is also currently the assistant group secretary for the National Farmers Union.
Miriam, a farmer’s wife, took up her post as NFU Mutual agent for Alnwick having served the local community for five years, dealing with both commercial and farming customers.
Tania Conway, senior agent for Alnwick, said: “Our agency is located in the heart of north Northumberland, allowing easy access to our offices for a face-to-face chat.
“Our success is down to maintaining good relationships with our members, providing solid expertise and always a friendly customer experience.
“All of our staff are based in and around the area we serve and have a very good understanding of the needs and issues that affect those who live and work in the countryside.”
NFU Mutual has more than 300 offices located in rural towns and villages throughout the UK. It offers general insurance, life, pensions and investments.
