A contender for Grand Designs?
The proposal is to build a modern, energy-efficient home that takes advantage of the views of the River Tweed and the distant Cheviots.
The steeply sloping greenfield site lies on the south side of Castle Terrace and to the east of No. 37 and has been vacant for a number of years.

Hide AdA report by architect Keith Renton states: “The brief for this building is to create a modern very energy efficient home taking advantage of the southernly aspect and views to the Tweed and north Northumberland. The clients have very clear ideas on what a home should be and do not want to be constrained by traditional ‘off the shelf’ designs. The design is unashamedly modern driven by the requirements of the brief and siting of the house.”
Outline permission to develop the site was granted last year.
