£60k boost for dentist

A Berwick dental practice launched its full digital suite last week, after being awarded a £60,000 grant to support the development of the business.

Berwick Smile Dental Care was awarded the funding by the North East Rural Growth Network, which approved the investment from the Rural Business Growth Fund.

The practice, at 57-63 West End, Tweedmouth, is owned by principal dentist, Dr Indra Rampersad.

The grant funding, along with significant capital investment by the business, has enabled the practice to acquire new equipment to manufacture its own dental appliances in-house as well as extend the treatment area currently available.

The project, now complete, will create four full-time-equivalent posts by 2019.
