Stagecoach announce free bus travel for Armed Forces members and veterans across the North East to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VJ Day

Stagecoach buses across the North East region will be offering free travel to any Armed Forces personnel carrying a military ID card and to veterans wearing the veteran’s badge.
This is to mark the 75th anniversary of victory over Japan, which brought the six-year World War II conflict to an end in 1945.

Hide AdNorth East commuters have been encouraged to get back on public transport after the coronavirus lockdown significantly impacted the sector with passenger numbers collapsing to just 5% of normal levels at the height of lockdown in April.
Face coverings have been mandatory on public transport since June 15 and will continue to be so. Anyone not wearing a face covering could be refused travel or potentially fined.
