13. Step back into Saxon history at Escomb’s village church
Escomb Church is one of the finest examples of Saxon architecture in England, dating to around AD670. You’ll find Roman inscriptions, sundials and an altar stone here.

Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience recreates a seaport the way it would have been in the 18th century. Here you can board the HMS Trincomalee, the oldest afloat warship in Britain which was built in 1817.
