The Blink Bonny

Can any readers help Charles Hopper understand why a pub in Christon Bank, with no obvious connection to the racehorse, is named after the Blink Bonny filly?

He likes to think that a punter backed her in The Oaks, which she won at 40:1, and bought the pub.

The locomotive carrying her name was cut up for scrap in the 1960s.
