Wild With Consent aims to connect campervanners with landowners who have secluded, beautiful locations to offer as temporary campsites.

The start-up gives guests the opportunity to stay in wild, private places with full landowner consent, rather than parking cheek-by-jowl with other tourists.

Last summer, Grace Fell and her parents enjoyed travelling around Scotland in their trusty Iveco campervan, taking advantage of the ‘right to roam’ to stay in some stunning wild locations.

However, as they crossed the border back into their home county of Northumberland such locations were no longer available.

Grace said: “Having grown up in Northumberland I know such places exist, as we are fortunate to have friends with some beautiful property.”

Thus, Wild With Consent was born.

Grace’s mission is to help campervanners who want to stay off-grid to connect with farmers and landowners looking to tap into Northumberland’s burgeoning tourist opportunities.

"As we head into another busy summer of staycations, Wild With Consent wants to help people explore and enjoy the British countryside responsibly,” said Grace.

"Established campsites are quickly becoming fully booked, and it is hard to find unique, tranquil locations in which to enjoy a holiday where you are not trespassing.

“The sites are only offered to those travelling in self-contained campervans who are on the hunt for a special adventure. They are only available to one campervan per night to maintain privacy, and campers are required to adhere to wild camping guidelines to maintain the ethos of ‘leave no trace’.

“Conscious camping and being sensitive to our natural surroundings are at the heart of this new business, as we all enjoy and appreciate the Great British countryside this summer.

"It seems like a crazy idea to set up a travel business in the middle of a pandemic. But we believe that exploring beautiful Britain, in an exclusive way, is only going to get more popular in the post-pandemic era.”

Locations on offer include Dunstan Hill, Elwick, Scremerston Town Farm, Lanton, Shellacres, Far Banks and Pallinsburn, Crookham Westfield, West Learmouth and Bowmont Water.
