Etal Show has become the latest event to fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic.

The organising committee has decided to cancel what would have been the 84th staging of the event on September 6.

Robert O’Rourke, chairman, said: “Due to the ongoing corona virus pandemic it is with regret that the committee have reluctantly decided to cancel the 84th Etal Show.

“We understand that this is disappointing news for everyone involved with the show, but we feel that it is the responsible decision to take.

“Our priority remains as always, the health and safety of our visitors, exhibitors, volunteers and the village.

“Our much-loved show is widely supported by local businesses and the community and we would like to thank you for your continued support.”

The 2021 show is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 5.
