And after most of us probably stuffed ourselves silly with food and drink over Christmas, what better way to blow away the cobwebs?
There are lots of coastal spots to choose from, so we have done the hard work for you and put together a list of some of the most scenic places for a stroll.
So what are you waiting for? Grab your coat and enjoy some fresh air at one of these stunning spots:

9. Beadnell
Beadnell beach is undoubtedly one of Northumberland's prettiest beaches with a stunning harbour located at one end. During summer, the beach is full of tourists, so why not enjoy what's on your doorstep when it's a little quieter? Just a short walk away in the village there is several pubs, restaurants and cafes, ideal for warming up after being out in the cold. Photo: John Leigh

10. Seahouses
Alongside a stretch of beach and the harbour, Seahouses is best known for fish and chips. The village makes a great place to visit with children, as after they run off their Christmas excitement, you may wish to pay a visit to the amusements. Photo: Jane Coltman
