From miles of unspoilt sandy beaches to wild, rugged countryside, we have some of beautiful spots that are the pride of the county.
Here are 13 of the best spots to get away from it all….
9. Bolam Lake, near Whalton

10. Fontburn reservoir, near Rothbury
Fontburn reservoir holds both rainbow and brown trout with a nearby conservation area home to lots of wildlife. There is a circular walk around the reservoir and plenty of picnic spots. Photo: Jane Coltman
11. Newton-by-the-Sea
Certainly not a hidden gem but less well known than the likes of Bamburgh and Druridge, Newton-by-the-Sea is one of Northumberland's best beaches. The view from the main car park towards the beach is one of the best in the county, with the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle in the distance. Embleton, just around the corner, is a gem too.
