President Eleanor welcomed everyone to the meeting. She introduced a new member who was joining us for the first time.
The treasurer took to the floor. This is not the most popular meeting of the year as subs are due. However, she thanked everyone for payments and asked for donations to the ACWW fund. January is always an expensive month.
Correspondence included a lovely invitation to Alnmouth WI in March, which is hosting an evening with The History Wardrobe – a real treat.
Our main business was to discuss the resolutions from the National Federation. Five committee members each took one of the resolutions and facilitated discussions at different tables. This led to some lively input. Individual votes were cast and results announced.
During refreshments a picture quiz of places in Northumberland was the challenge.
Members were asked if anyone would like to dress as a suffragette and take part in the Highlights production in April. We don’t seem to have many dramatic ladies.
Finally, we were reminded that February is a pooled supper and we have 10 guests attending Fools Gold. It promises to be a lively night.
