This Sunday (May 30), Moore House, Whalton, Morpeth, which is new to the scheme, is opening at 2pm. Next Sunday, it’s Lilburn Tower, near Wooler.
5. Carlisle Park, Morpeth
Carlisle Park is a public park located on the south bank of the River Wansbeck in Morpeth. It includes the formal William Turner Garden, an aviary, paddling pool, ancient woodland, tennis courts, several bowling greens and a skate park.

6. Gertrude Jekyll Garden, Holy Island
Garden designer, writer and artist Gertrude Jekyll created this small walled garden in 1911 alongside friend Edwin Lutyens, who'd transformed Lindisfarne Castle into a holiday home. It is one of five Jekyll gardens belonging to the National Trust nationwide that are open to the public.

7. Stanton Hall, Morpeth
The grounds at Stanton Hall, near Morpeth, have evolved as the garden-centre business has expanded over 35 years. Entry to the gardens is free. Dogs are not allowed, except guide dogs.

8. Minotaur Maze, Kielder Castle
Minotaur Maze is part of the Kielder Castle Visitor Centre and Art & Architecture trail at Kielder. The castle will remain closed until further notice. It is set to reopen in 2022 with a new expanded cafe offer after major redevelopment work is carried out.
