Gardening association cancels North Sunderland and Seahouses Show

The annual North Sunderland and Seahouses Show has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The 38th staging of the event, organised by the North Sunderland and Seahouses Gardening Association, had been due to be held on Saturday, September 5.

Liz Moor, secretary, said: “The decision was not made lightly as we had hoped the show would give the village a boost during these difficult times.

"The practicalities of keeping everyone from the volunteers, judges, public and ourselves safe are proving to be difficult to ensure and is in keeping with a number of other shows which have already cancelled.

“We will continue to post on our Facebook page. We have enjoyed seeing what people, both young and old are growing, baking and have crafted recently. We hope we are encouraging our regular exhibitors and attracting new exhibitors for our 2021 show.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support and understanding in these challenging times.”
