Walks on Holy Island, today, 7pm to 9pm; Thursday, July 21, 2pm to 4pm
TWO walks exploring Holy Island take place this week.
The first, which is being held tonight from 7pm to 9pm, looks for the orchid unique to Holy Island, the Lindisfarne Helleborine.
Meet at The Snook car park. Adults are £7, children under 12 free, and the walk must be pre-booked.
The second walk, which takes place on Thursday, July 21, between 2pm and 4pm, will give participants the chance to find out about the natural and local history of the island and with the right conditions walkers will see butterflies, birds and seals. Wear suitable shoes for rough tracks and meet at the main car park at the village exit.
Adults are £7, children under 12 free, although there is no need to book, just turn up.
