Northumberland's only Michelin Star restaurant Hjem offers a taste of luxury for Mother's Day

Restaurant Hjem, at Wall, near Hexham, has already enjoyed sell-out success from its Christmas Comfort and Valentine’s Day boxes.

While lockdown continues to prevent head chef Alex Nietosvuori and his partner and restaurant manager, Ally Thompson from welcoming guests into Hjem’s dining room, the pair hope that these at-home offerings will help to make Mothering Sunday on March 14 that little bit more special.

The boxes are offered as one size only - ideal to share between two, or as a feast for one if lockdown is preventing you from spending Mothering Sunday with the ones you love.

Each box will contain all of the following:

Chicken skin crisps & wild garlic dip

Pork belly rillettes & crackling

Cured haddock & nettle dressing

Yukon gold potato pancakes & smoked trout roe

Brown crab & pickled cucumber croustades

Doddington cheese & leek quiche

Darling blue cheese, seeded crispy flatbread & chutney

Sourdough bread & North Acomb Farm butter

Wild berry jam doughnut

Mixed nut nougat

Vanilla & Rum canelé

The Mothering Sunday boxes are available for pre-order now for delivery (NE postcodes only) or collection on March 12 13 or 14.

Orders can be made via the website at www.restauranthjem.co.uk where visitors will also find a selection of gift vouchers in various denominations and packages, together with wines chosen by resident Sommelier Anna Frost, and a line-up of beers from Hjem’s favourite beer delivery company NE Brews.
