Michelin guide listed Northumberland restaurant offers takeaway fine dining for Valentine's Day

The Potted Lobster in Bamburgh has retained its place in the prestigious Michelin Guide for 2021.

“Congratulations to our team for retaining our Michelin Guide award,” it posted on its Facebook page. “We’ve had a tough year in our industry so it really means so much to us.

"We would like to say a big thank you to our amazing team; none of it would be possible without you. We are looking forward to opening soon.”

Michelin Guide judges described it as follows: ‘A sweet, homely bistro hung with dramatic local seascapes; sit outside for a view of the majestic castle.

‘Classic dishes come in large portions. Check the blackboard for the latest catch; the squid and oysters are must-tries.’

Orders for its Valentine’s Day menu must be placed by February 11 with dishes all ready to just be finished off in the oven at home.

All orders will be available for collection at The Potted Lobster between 10am and 2pm on Sunday, February 14 with safe social distancing measures in place.

Hjem – located in Wall in the heart of Hadrian’s Wall Country – became the first Northumberland restaurant to be awarded a coveted Michelin Star.

The other Northumberland eateries in the Michelin Guide for 2021 are The Rat Inn, Anick, Haveli, Ponteland, and The Feathers Inn, Hedley on the Hill.
