This is a more recent looking back feature, but covers a subject that will be a big miss.

2014 marked the last year in which the Sea King helicopter, with the 202 Squadron at RAF Boulmer, made its annual festive fly-over.

For many years the ‘yellow bird in the sky’ brought some Christmas joy to children throughout Northumberland as it circled around the area with Santa hanging out.
