Feel-good factor

Our vice president Lady Craft greeted members of Embleton WI at the November meeting in Creighton Hall.

A special welcome was given to three new officers, Mrs Judith Hazelhurst, Mrs Jean Lawrence and Mrs Maxine Parker.

Topics arising included resolutions for the 2017 national AGM in Liverpool and fund-raising for the Women’s Institute.

Arrangements for the December meeting were made and details given of forthcoming county events, several of which some members will be attending.

Business over, it was time to introduce the speaker Glenys Morgan, with her introduction to the world of yoga.

She briefly spoke of the history and benefits of the activity, which coming from India, combines a union of body, mind and spirit, resulting in the feel-good factor.

Members were then able to experience some of the simpler exercises aimed at relaxing the body.

Music and verse concluded the demonstration.

Lady Craft gave Glenys a vote of thanks on behalf of the relaxed members before they enjoyed tea and biscuits.

Competition winners for a scenic photograph were: 1 C Robson; 2 J Little; 3 Lady Craft.

The raffle winner was Maxine Parker.
