Children from Longhoughton C of E Primary School and Barndale House School in Alnwick, along with local veterans, are usually invited to RAF Boulmer for Christmas parties.

Unfortunately, this year Covid-19 meant that there was no way to safely hold these parties, which was really disappointing for everyone.

To show their appreciation for the local community and hopefully raise a smile at the end of a difficult year, the Christmas committee at RAF Boulmer instead arranged for a delivery of Christmas gifts to both schools and to the veterans.

The children at both schools all received a selection box, delivered by Flying Officer Jon Salmon.

The veterans received a hamper of locally produced items and a Christmas card.

Sally Carrigan from Barndale House School said: “We would just like to thank everyone at RAF Boulmer for their continued support for our school. It's so sad we can't have a Christmas party this year, but we are so grateful for their donation.”
