Olly Brown of Alnwick Round Table said: “Based on the success of our #BrightenAlnwickProject activities through the summer, and the subsequent cancellation of our fireworks event, we wanted to do something further and saw that there was an opportunity for two sleighs within the Alnwick area, allowing more of our local community to be able to see Santa over the festive period.

“The first two evenings have received great feedback and hundreds of smiles have been created.

"Our sleigh was made possible thanks to the generous donations of our sponsors alongside the time and efforts of our members required to build it.

“We are running six further evenings over the next two weeks; this in addition to those being completed by Alnwick Lions, who are running their sleigh over five evenings in the Alnwick area this week.

“Based on interest from the wider area, we have plotted a Santa map on our website, where you can see where and when we will visit the community. This includes more information and allows you to register your interest using an online form, after which we will try to pass your drive.”
