The line-up at the 2007 Magic of the 80s gig was Toyah Willcox, Carol Decker, Nick Heyward (of Haircut 100), Midge Ure (of Ultravox), Go West, Belinda Carlisle and Martin Fry (of ABC). The downpours and the mud simply added to a fantastic atmosphere as many in the crowd dressed in ’80s gear for the occasion. It barely stopped raining all afternoon and evening, but that somehow added to the incredible atmosphere back in 2007. Dressed to thrill - mullet wigs, fluorescent leg-warmers and other '80s attire were the order of the day. At least their heads stayed dry, while they waited for the first act at the Magic of the 80s concert at Alnwick in 2007. All set for a great time in the Pastures, Alnwick, despite the weather. This group wasted no time toasting the success of the concert! A real mix of '80s fashion - even a Freddie Mercury lookalike. The crowd builds, admiring the view before the music starts. Toyah twice reached number four in the UK singles charts - with the EP Four From Toyah and then Thunder in the Mountains, both in 1981. Toyah had a brolly good time, with the crowd sheltering as best they could from the rain under a sea of umbrellas. Nick was the lead singer and songwriter for Haircut 100. He launched a solo career after the band's first album, Pelican West. Nick Heyward sings the hits at Alnwick in 2007. He charted with Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl), Love Plus One, Fantastic Day and Nobody's Fool with Haircut 100. Nick Heyward dressed for the weather at Alnwick in 2007.
