The event was opened by representatives of Blyth Spartans and activities throughout the day included tall ship and heritage workshop tours, arts and crafts, STEM activities, a Mouse Hunt and Rubbings Trail, storytelling, live music and a children’s samba workshop.
For history fans, an archive exhibition was on display, while Blyth Valley Samba kept everyone entertained.
The open day is part of the charity’s continuing work to bring Blyth’s maritime history to life and encourage local families and visitors to discover the story of the town, its shipbuilding traditions and its connections to the sea.
Siobhan Sargeant, CEO of Blyth Tall Ship, said: “We were delighted to open our doors to the public and share our skills, heritage and pride in our wonderful vessel Williams II.”
