Two Ashington clubs given new food hygiene ratings

New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to two Ashington establishments.

Ashington Royal British Legion, at 75 North Seaton Road, has been handed a four-out-of-five rating after an assessment on April 12.

And Hirst Progressive Social Club, at 61-65 North Seaton Road, was also given a score of four on April 12.

It means that of Northumberland's 434 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 357 (82%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

The ratings are as follows: 5 – hygiene standards are very good; 4 – hygiene standards are good; 3 – hygiene standards are generally satisfactory; 2 – some improvement is necessary; 1 – major improvement is necessary; 0 – urgent improvement is required.
