It has signed the Time to Change Employer Pledge, part of a national campaign looking at the way people think and act about mental health problems.

Daljit Lally, council chief executive, said: “Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, so I was proud to sign the Time to Change Pledge to show our commitment. By changing how we think and act about mental health, we will make sure that all of our employees thrive and feel supported.”

Coun Trevor Cessford, mental health champion, added: “We are working hard to put in place best-practice interventions and policy to help our staff work in ways that promote a positive mental well-being. Staff celebrated by taking part in activities including a Time to Talk Walk and a ‘Big Sing’ for Time to Talk Day.
