Lucy Cockburn, 37, has launched a new skincare business in Clayport Street, despite continuing to work in critical care in the Scottish capital.

“I’ve been a qualified nurse for 15 years within the NHS mainly working in Edinburgh,” said Lucy. “After having my twin boys a couple of years ago, I decided I wanted to move home to Northumberland and set up my own business.

“I realised that there was a shortage for skin health in Alnwick, so I have set up my own skin clinic called Clear Aesthetics which opened on April 1.”

It is a specialised skin clinic for a variety of skin conditions – ageing skin, acne, hyperpigmentation, rosacea, dry and oily skin.

“The treatments that I’ll be offering are Botox, fillers, chemical skin peels, micro-needling and Dermaplaning,” she said. “I’ll also be selling medical graded home skin care products.”

Lucy qualified as a nurse in 2004 from Napier University, Edinburgh. Since qualifying, she has had experience of working in the transplant unit, critical care and oncology. She trained in facial aesthetics in 2017.

As a nurse, Lucy is passionate about her clients and understands that the aesthetic journey can be an exciting yet scary experience for them.

“All clients will be offered a free, no obligation consultation, she said. “You will be fully informed about your treatment before deciding to go ahead.

“This gives us the opportunity to discuss what you want to achieve, the treatments available for you and any concerns that you may have.

“Treatments are performed to enhance your natural looks in a safe and clinical environment.”
