On International Nurses Day, we’ve been asking families across the North East to send in their messages of support for our health heroes.

Getting in touch on Facebook to mark the global celebration – which takes place every year on May 12 – dozens of readers recognised the incredible work of nurses across the region and everywhere.

Here is what you had to say on our Facebook pages:

Margaret Neeson: “Huge thank you to all our nurses for doing such an amazing job not only now but always. My own personal thank yous go to my daughter Vicky Neeson and daughter in law Julie Neeson.
