Urgent recruitment drive launched as Northumberland County Council seeks key staff

Northumberland County Council has launched an urgent recruitment drive to bolster key roles supporting residents during the coronavirus outbreak.

The local authority is offering immediate starts for carers, cleaners, gas and heating engineers, and a host of other roles.

They come with a guaranteed fixed-term contract for a minimum of three months on a full or part-time basis, with some offering the possibility of permanent employment in the future.

Daljit Lally, the council’s chief executive, said: “In these unprecedented times, we have an increased need for resources across our workforce and would welcome applications from local people who could support our wonderful communities.

“We offer a range of excellent employment benefits and are keen to recruit locally in the first instance, to support people in the county whose employment may have been affected by the coronavirus outbreak.”
