Coronavirus rates in Northumberland appear to have stabilised over the Christmas period.

The highest number of cases are largely in the west with isolated hotspots elsewhere.

Latest data from Public Health England, published by Northumberland County Council, up to December 27 reveals the county-wide infection rate is 184.2 positive cases per 100,000.

This compared to 191.7 per 100,000 on December 22.

There have been 590 positive cases recorded in Northumberland over the past seven days.

Northumberland is currently in the Tier 3 ‘very high alert’ level of restrictions.
