Covid-19 rates in Northumberland have fallen to their lowest level since last summer.

Latest data published by Northumberland County Council reveals there were 71 positive cases across the county in the week to April 5.

The rate is 22.17 per 100,000 – the lowest since the end of August.

Large parts of the county’s north and west have recorded no recent cases.

There were none positive cases in Seghill and Seaton Delaval ward in the week to April 5 with the rate at 146.8.

Here are the 15 wards with the highest rates.

There were seven positive cases in Hartley ward where the rate is 143.2.
The rate in Cramlington South East is 87.9.
The rate is 71.7 in Ashington's Hirst ward.
The rate in Bedlington West is 67.1.
The rate in Cramlington Village is 67.1.
The rate in Blyth's Croft ward is 64.4.
The rate in Seaton with Newbiggin West is 57.7.
The rate in Blyth's Kitty Brewster ward is 46.2.
Lynemouth ward has a rate of 44.6.
Bywell ward has a rate of 44.0.
Morpeth North has a rate of 42.0.
Morpeth Stobhill has a rate of 40.7.
Bedlington Central has a rate of 38.0.
The rate in Druridge Bay ward is 30.7.
