The 14 areas of Northumberland with the highest Covid rates as Alnwick case numbers soar

Alnwick ward recorded nearly twice as many Covid cases as any other ward in Northumberland over the past week, latest figures show.

Data from Public Health England shows there were 112 positive cases in Alnwick ward in the week to March 19 – the next highest was 60.

There were 2,549 positive cases across the county and the infection rate is 787.2.

Here are the 14 areas of Northumberland with the highest infection rates.

1. Hexham East
