Case rates have fallen five days in a row and are currently at their lowest level since the period between Christmas and New Year.
Latest data from Public Health England, published by Northumberland County Council, reveals the county-wide infection rate was 267 positive cases per 100,000 on January 9.
There were 855 confirmed positive cases in the seven days up to that date.
Nationally, however, England’s Chief Medical Officer, Prof Chris Whitty, has urged people to minimise all unnecessary contact with others over the coming weeks.
