Covid rates for 15 areas of the Berwick constituency as decision on Tier 3 status looms

Covid rates across the Berwick constituency continue to show significant variations.

Generally speaking, north Northumberland has lower infection rates than the south and east.

Eight of the 15 council wards which make up the constituency have rates under 100 positive cases per 100,000.

Data from Public Health England, published by Northumberland County Council, reveals the county-wide infection rate was 151.4 on December 9. This compares to 163.3 on December 2.

There were 485 confirmed positive cases in the seven days up to December 9 compared to 523 in the week up to December 2.
