Council seeks PPE supplies from Northumberland businesses

Northumberland County Council is asking local businesses to support their efforts to secure additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to help protect frontline workers.

Over recent weeks, the council has been receiving stocks of PPE from the Government as well as other supply chains.

However, they are now planning for the next few weeks and is seeking assistance from local businesses.

A council spokesperson said: “Whilst we are receiving PPE at intervals through our supply chain and via central Government arrangements, we are planning ahead and would be keen to hear from any Northumberland based businesses who could supply to us immediately or in the future.

“Working alongside independent care providers, we need a range of equipment to comply with recently issued PPE guidance for Coronavirus. It’s important we can ensure we have sufficient supply.”

It is seeking surgical masks, eye protection and goggles, disposable gloves and aprons, hand sanitiser and alcohol based wipes.
