Alnwick businesses help virtual Christmas fair raise valuable funds for HospiceCare North Northumberland

Among them are Geraldine Smith from Bags of Uses and Becky and Ivor Davies of UniquEco Designs who have raised over £2,000 between them.

They are among 40 exhibitors taking part in the hospice’s virtual Christmas fair, organised to replace its annual event at Linden Hall which had to be cancelled because of coronavirus.

Geraldine said: “It’s been a really positive experience and I am busy with Christmas orders, I also feel proud to also be supporting our local cause and I am so pleased to have raised £1,000 for HospiceCare from donations of my sales.”

Becky and Ivor have raised £1,268 through donations of their hospice glass angels and 10% of sales between now and Christmas.

Emma Arthur, HospiceCare community fundraiser, said: “We look forward to welcoming you virtually this year at our first Virtual Joy of Christmas Fair.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to browse and buy from 40 exhibitors selling some wonderful bespoke gifts, tasty seasonal treats and local craft.

"Enjoy finding unique and bespoke gifts this Christmas from the comfort of your own home with a festive feel.
