Praise for Amble sixth form students after school ranked fifth in Northumberland

An Amble school is celebrating the performance of its sixth form students.

Government performance data comparing all schools and colleges in Northumberland placed James Calvert Spence College Sixth Form in fifth place for overall progress and results over time for 16 to 18 provision.

The sixth form also ranks fourth for destinations after 16 to 18, with 89% of students progressing on to education or employment.

Attainment at A-Level is strong for JCSC students, with an average grade of C+ and 46.7% achieving AAB or higher in at least two facilitation subjects.

“We are a small and friendly sixth form that offers a variety of academic and vocational courses. The parents of students who study with us tell us that they really appreciate the personalised and supportive approach we take to help students achieve their best outcomes.

“We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of sixth formers from Amble and further afield in September 2020, when we hope to build even further on these excellent results.”
