It has been an anxious period for the students – and parents and teachers - with policy changes leading to grades being altered at the 11th hour.
Data across England shows 78.8% of papers were rated grade 4 or above compared with 69.9% in 2019.
There was a rise of a quarter in the top grades - a 7 or above, which is equivalent to an A in the old system.

We haven't got a picture of Leah Johnson but her results merit a mention. Her results were: Biology 8, Chemistry 8, English Literature 7, English Language 7, Geography 8, Maths 7, Physics 8, Health and Social Care - Distinction.
