It has been an anxious period for the students – and parents and teachers - with policy changes leading to grades being altered at the 11th hour.
Data across England shows 78.8% of papers were rated grade 4 or above compared with 69.9% in 2019.
There was a rise of a quarter in the top grades - a 7 or above, which is equivalent to an A in the old system.
Here’s how some of them got on….
1. Faith is justified
Faith Bell achieved a great set of results: Biology 9, Chemistry 9, English Language 7, English Literature, 7, Food 8, French 8, Geography 9, Maths 8, Physics 8.
She plans to stay on in Sixth Form to do Biology, Chemistry and Geography.
2. Success stories
Sam Dunn is heading to Newcastle College to study electrical installations. His results were: Biology 6, Chemistry 6, Design Technology 8, English Language 7, English Literature 6, French 5, Maths 5, Physics 5.
Sadie Bryson will attend JCSC Sixth Form to study Geography, Biology, Chemistry, Maths. Her results were: Biology 9, Chemistry 8, English Language 7, English Literature 7, French 8, Geography 9, Maths 8, Physics 8.
3. Science whizz
Nathan Baker excelled in Chemistry. His results were: Biology 6, Chemistry 8, Design Technology 5, English Language 6, English Literature 5, Maths 7, Physics 6
He plans to stay on in Sixth Form to study Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
4. Results time
