Competition-winning children get tour of RAF Boulmer

RAF Boulmer welcomed competition-winning children to the station.

Its Christmas card competition was won by Georgia Surtees, from Red Row First School, with her Reindeers Are Fantastic design. Highly commended spots went to Jaden Fender, from Grange View First School, and Olivia Gladstone, from Swansfield Park Primary School.

They met Station Commander, Group Captain Kevin 'Chesh' Cowieson and Warrant Officer David Barr, and visited the Control and Reporting CentrewhereFlight Lieutenant Gordon Halton demonstrated how RAF Boulmer carries out its role as part of UK Air Defence.

There was also a 'Kids vs Grown Ups' Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) workshop.Group Captain Cowieson said: “It was clear how much time and effort went into every entry we received, our three finalists are worthy winners. The winning card, designed by Georgia, was sent to all of our personnel deployed worldwide over Christmas.”
