Teams from 17 schools competed with partner schools to score points in a number of technical challenges, including driver skills and robot design.

The Alnwick team had been languishing near the bottom of the competition after eight rounds of technical challenges but pulled it out of the bag in the final round to book their place in the national final in Telford in March.
