The owners have chosen Metrocentre as the location for their second Zucchini Pasta bar with the aim of positioning it alongside other popular big-name restaurants including Nando’s, Wagamama and TGI Fridays, all located at Metrocentre’s Qube.

Keeping traditional practices, a concise menu and simple flavours, Zucchini will serve affordable and super fresh plates of pasta daily with its seasonal menus, daily specials pasta board, as well as a traditional pasta menu and what is claimed to be ‘the best garlic bread in Newcastle.’

Founder of Zucchini Pasta Bar, Alan Barker, said: “We are super excited to be bringing Zucchini Pasta Bar to such an iconic destination as the Metrocentre. The freshest hand rolled pasta, served in a few minutes, at an affordable price point is what we’re all about and it’s perfect for the centre.

“Our independently owned fresh mono concept began in Newcastle city centre and branching out to Metrocentre naturally feels like the next step for us. The team and I are really looking forward to serving our fresh artisan dishes to shoppers in Gateshead.”

Ben Cox, Senior Asset Manager for Sovereign Centros said: “The arrival of Zucchini Pasta Bar at Metrocentre is an exciting addition to the Qube. Our shoppers have been telling us that they want local independent operators, as well as big national brands, so we’re sure the introduction of Zucchini will be a hit. Their innovative menu will bring a new dining experience to the centre and we can’t wait to try it.”

Zucchini is set to open its doors on Monday 17 May when lockdown restrictions are eased.
