Speakers share tips for getting on in business

Next week’s Alnwick Town Council Business Forum welcomes Michael Walsh and Karl McCracken.

Michael, an Alnwick-based web developer from Spot On Designs, will be giving advice on how to make websites more engaging and effective.

Michael has lived in Alnwick for 12 years, helping local businesses get online by designing and building customer-focused websites, optimising websites for search engines and providing web hosting support and maintenance.

He will be offering tips and guidelines for local businesses to make their online presence more effective and how they can make the customer journey simpler, leading to more inquiries, bookings and sales.

Two local businesses have recently had their websites redesigned by Spot On Designs – The Running Fox and Origin Designed. Michael will be discussing the processes involved in designing these websites.

Karl, from NELEP, the North East Local Enterprise Partnership, will give an update on what financial support for rural companies is available, particularly in light of Brexit.

This will include government finance availability, regional grants, matched funding and low cost business loans.
