David Cash, associate director at Christie & Co, which is handling the sale, said: “The business has consistently traded well and the tenants signed a new lease just last year, which should give confidence to an investor as to the viability of the business.

"Craster was even busier than usual this summer due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the increased number of UK holiday makers. Again, this should add comfort to the viability and longevity of the current arrangement.

“We are seeing increased demand from buyers looking to purchase freehold commercial property in the countryside or at the coast, as they see it as a secure investment, given the likely popularity of such locations for years to come.

"Our clients have decided to sell the property to help fund the purchase of another hospitality business on Tyneside.”

The business has built a loyal community following and has traded successfully in the village for a number of years.

Trade is also significantly boosted by year-round tourist trade due to Craster’s popularity as a domestic holiday destination.

The café and store are situated within a traditional stone fisherman’s cottage, which has undergone a modern refurbishment to create a bright and relaxed open plan café space, with a distinctly coastal interior style. The rear of the property features an enclosed modern decking area, with additional seating.
