Northumberland hotel provides much knee-ded support for festive proposals

Macdonald Linden Hall Golf and Country Club, near Longhorsley, has introduced the item by a love seat in the gardens.

Tanya Hedley, sales manager, said: “We often hear from guests that, while they are delighted to ask the question, getting down on one knee can be quite uncomfortable. Especially, if he or she takes a while to give a response.

“To make the experience as memorable, and pain-free, as possible we’ve placed cushions in the most romantic and festive location. And if guests don’t get the answer they are hoping for at least there’s a nice velvet cushion to soften the blow.”The hotel’s bespoke proposal package also includes an overnight stay for two in a deluxe or super deluxe room, a three course dinner, and champagne, chocolates and strawberries on arrival.
