The Fishermen’s Mission is urging fishermen to get ready for the uncertain time to come.

Claire McIntosh, Fishermen’s Mission port officer for Northumberland and south east Scotland, said: “We know life for our fishermen is very tough at present, but we have to be realistic and recognise that Covid-19 will impact our lives for months to come.

“As some lockdown measures begin to be lifted there is hope for better days ahead, but we also fear there could be longer term problems with debt, as payment holidays and Government support schemes come to an end.
