North of Tyne Mayor to address Alnwick business meeting
The North of Tyne Mayor will be guest speaker at the next meeting of Alnwick Business Forum.
Jamie Driscoll, the region’s first elected mayor, will give a presentation on Wednesday, February 5, at the St James’s Centre, Pottergate, at 6pm.
Tim Kirton, Alnwick Town Council projects officer, said: “The North of Tyne Mayor’s role will be of great interest to Alnwick businesses.
“Having a North of Tyne elected Mayor has secured an additional £600million for Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumberland over the next 30 years. The authority aims to use this to grow small businesses, create 10,000 jobs adding over £1billion in goods and services and levering over £2billion of private sector investment, and to boost the local economy by over £1billion.”
“We will hear from Mr Driscoll as to how Alnwick and its businesses can benefit from this.”For information, contact Tim Kirton on 07926 364339 or email [email protected]
